Accessibility Statement
Effective on site launch.
Run 4 Awareness wants everyone to be able to use this site and take part in the run. We are working to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we have done
- Clear page structure with proper headings and landmarks
- Text alternatives for images that carry meaning
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline and a “skip to content” link
- Color contrast that aims to meet AA, and no information conveyed by color alone
- A layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops, and works when text is enlarged
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting in your device
- A goal of captions on any video we publish
Known limitations
Some parts of the experience rely on third parties, and we have less control over them:
- Race registration and payment happen on outside platforms with their own accessibility standards
- Embedded maps, social media feeds, and any downloadable PDFs may not fully meet AA yet
If you hit a barrier on one of those, contact us and we will help you get the information or complete the task another way.
Getting event information another way
We can provide event details, registration help, and other information by phone, by email, or in person on request. Just ask.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site is hard to use with assistive technology, or you cannot access content you need, email info@run4awareness.org. Please include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within a few business days and to fix issues as quickly as we can.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time task. We check the site as we add pages and features, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.
