The Diabetes Awareness Run on Guam had faded out around 2012. In 2023 the Brotherhood of Veterans Motorcycle Club brought it back, “in honor of the late Vietnam Veteran Mr. Carl Butler’s 14 years of 5k runs.” The tagline on that first flyer said it plainly: their fight is our fight.

Registration ran through the Guam Running Club. Awards went out across Youth, Junior, Open, Sub-Master, Master, Senior, Grandmaster, and Manåmko’ divisions for the 5K, and Boys and Girls for the 2K. The first 100 registrants got a shirt. A portion of the proceeds went to the Guam Diabetes Association.
