Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our web host records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, for security and troubleshooting.
- Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics, a service run by Google, to understand how the site is used, such as which pages people read and which buttons they click (for example Register, Donate, Share, or a search result). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (listed under Cookies below) and receives information about your device, browser, approximate location, and the pages you visit. We do not send Google your name, your email address, or the words you type into our site search. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Jetpack (Automattic): our site uses Jetpack, a WordPress service run by Automattic. Jetpack Stats counts page visits, and Jetpack’s image service delivers the images on our pages. To do this, Automattic receives your IP address, browser details, the page you visit, and the site that sent you here. Automattic’s privacy policy: automattic.com/privacy.

How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only:
- With Reef Pursuit International Inc. as needed to administer event funds and donations
- With service providers that operate the site on our behalf, such as our web host, form and email tools, and payment processor, who may only use it to provide their service to us

Race registration happens elsewhere
You register for the run on RaceResult, a third-party registration platform, not on this site. The participant waiver is provided by the Guam Running Club. Any information you enter there, including the waiver, is governed by that platform’s own privacy policy and terms. Please review them before you register.
Cookies
This site sets these cookies:
- Google Analytics (
_gaand_ga_EECXQHRHRK): set by Google Analytics to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used. They last up to 2 years. - Organizer dashboard (
wp-postpass_...): set only for organizers who enter the dashboard password, so they do not have to enter it again. It lasts up to 10 days.
The site also uses what it needs to work, for example remembering your theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your choices. We are adding a cookie choice to this site so you can decide whether Google Analytics runs, and we will update this policy when it is live. Until then, you can stop Google Analytics with Google’s official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. A parent or guardian registers any minor for the race through the registration platform. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry, volunteer, and sponsor information for as long as needed to act on it and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, then delete it. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Donation records are kept as long as required for accounting and any applicable reporting.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect right away.
- Access, correction, deletion: email us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will respond within a reasonable time.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. We honor these requests regardless of whether the law strictly applies to us.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, and we limit who can access form submissions. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site links to other organizations, the registration platform, sponsors, partners, and resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the organization and the site develop. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
